waiting for it to end

"an installation commemorating the 75th anniversary to the end of ww2"
de biesbosch museum - de biesbosch - 2020

dimensions: 800cm 750cm 30cm
material: steel

a couple next to each other, looking at the horizon, one is leaning “its” head on the shoulder of the other. they both have been waiting for the war to end.
as they wait all their details fade slowly, what is left of them an outline, yet made of strong metal. plants start growing on them yet they still wait for it to end.
