spectator experience (40 spectator) - 15 minutes
20 tables. each table had two chairs, one speaker, two pens. the spectators are welcomed by two volunteers who offer them thyme with sesame mixed with oil on bread and then ask them to choose a table and sit in front of someone they do not know. when everyone is seated, the spectators press the play button on the speaker and a 15 minutes recording by alaa is there. it starts by apologizing for not being with them due to the assumption that his presence might be s a different weight. it goes on telling them that alaa comes from a time where borders seize to exist, limitations seize to exist. it is a time where the body is not important anymore. 20 speakers echoing all together the same text in an unsynchronized manner. the installation ventures later by asking the seated couple questions about their childhood and memories and the relevance of their body in creating such memories. team
